Wellbeing Support

The Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHIPS)
The Mental Health in Primary Schools (MHIPS) initiative supports a whole-school approach to student wellbeing and mental health. At our school, this work is led by Amanda Wrangles, the Mental Health and Wellbeing Leader (MHWL), who plays a key role in building staff capacity and strengthening supports for students.
The MHWL works collaboratively with teachers, education support staff, leadership, families, and external services to promote positive mental health and wellbeing across the school. This includes supporting the implementation of evidence-based wellbeing programs, assisting staff to identify and respond to students experiencing mental health challenges, and coordinating targeted support where required.
MHIPS aims to ensure early identification and intervention, while fostering a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment where all students can thrive. Staff are encouraged to work closely with the MHWL to support student wellbeing and to embed consistent, proactive practices across the school.
